Walk to Bethlehem Update

Week 1 - wow are we traveling far! Miles traveled - 1042.81. We have 99 travelers signed up and about half reported mileage. We stopped in the city of “Brotherly Love”, Philadelphia only 469 miles from Columbus, but we logged a lot of miles in the city. We explored the firsts that Philadelphia is noted for such as the first US flag sewn by Elizabeth (Betsy) Ross, the first Presbytery in the US founded in 1706, and the first brick house built in 1682. We then traveled for a meal at City Tavern with its revolutionary era renditions. (a few copies of Kim’s entire travelogue are available at the Info Center).

GRIN is Moving

GRIN (Gahanna Residents in Need) is moving during the next few weeks. They would appreciate any help that you can give. Please check the sign-up genius at They are in real need of trucks, if anyone has any to offer or would be willing to help with the moving pieces.

Disaster Relief

We continue in prayer for those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.   We are also supporting them financially, with a contribution of $2,000 to  Presbyterian Disaster Relief from our church by the Service Cornerstone.

World Communion Sunday

Sunday, October 1st, is World Communion Sunday, when we are reminded of our connection with brothers and sisters in Christ around the world. It is also the Sunday that we collect the Peace and Global Witness Offering through the Presbyterian Church (USA), which reminds us of our calling to serve those in need around the world. This offering supports every level of the PC(USA) to work for peace and respond to injustice both near and far. Christ is our peace and we are bound together in him; we join in Christ’s proclamation of peace no matter where we are.

Pardon Our Mess

The Parlor and Room 7 are under construction due to issues. The Trustees are working to get both rooms back in good condition as soon as possible.
