Flowers

The flowers today are given by Steve & Cathy Morrison in memory of       their parents.

Annual Congregational Meeting

This will be held January 28th. We will have one service that day at 10:30am followed by the meeting and a potluck lunch. Sunday School is at 9:15am.

GRIN’s January Drive

GRIN’s collection focus for January is cleaning supplies and side dishes (instant potatoes, rice, noodles). Donation bins are by the glass doors.

A Gift of Song

Your Chancel Choir is presenting a joint concert with Stonybrook UMC on February 4th at 2pm. The concert is entitled “A Gift of Song” and will take place at Stonybrook Church. Donations of canned goods for GRIN will be accepted as “admission”.

Bunco

Calling all the ladies! You’re invited to join us for a rousing night of the game Bunco at the church on Friday, February 2nd, 7–9pm. No experience        necessary – bring a friend and a snack to share.

Pancake Dinner

Let’s gather as a church family for a pancake dinner on Shrove Tuesday, February 13th, the day before Lent begins. We’ll eat from 5:30 – 6:15 pm, followed by the game “Lenten Outburst” for all ages. We will be finished by 7pm. We need volunteers who can make pancakes and scrambled eggs that night, help set up, serve and clean up. Sign up at the Info Center or contact Kathi for more information kathibubb@gmail.com or 614-787-7337.

Hosts Needed

For the upcoming Table Sharing (an opportunity to gather for dinner with a small group of church members and friends in homes), we want to establish the hosts, dates and times in advance - others will sign up for the times most convenient. If you are interested in hosting a small group of 6-8 people for dinner in your home in February or March and providing the main dish (side dishes will be brought by the guests), please sign up at the Info Center with the date and time that works for you.

The Surprising Harmony Among Religions

This will be an interesting evening with speakers and discussion panelists  including local Muslim, Jewish and Christian Leaders. It will be held on Wednesday, January 24th, 7-9pm at Peace Lutheran Church. Pick up a flyer at the Info Center and see Teri Eriksen with questions.

Lunch and Learn

Our next lunch and learn is Monday, January 29th, 11am-1pm. Community Paramedic, Kenny King will discuss the programs that the Mifflin Township Fire department has available for seniors. The program will be followed by lunch. Cost is $5 to help defray the cost of lunch. Sign up at the Info Center.

Women's Event - Fresh Grounded Faith

We would like to take a group of Mifflin Ladies to this great local event. There will be times of worship and inspirational speakers including Jennifer        Rothschild and Lisa Welchel. Reynoldsburg UMC is hosting the event Friday, March 9th (7-9:30pm) and Saturday, the 10th (9am-12:30pm). Tickets are $40-$45 (depending on group size). Sign up at the Info Center by February 4th. See Courtney or Marquell with questions.

Mifflin Book Club

Our next book is A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. We will discuss it on Monday, January 22nd at 7pm in the library. All are welcome! Want to read ahead? In February, we are reading Love Lives Here: Finding What You Need in a World Telling You What You Want by Maria Goff and in March,  The Newcomers: Finding Refuge, Friendship, and Hope in an        American Classroom by Helen Thorpe.

Youth Retreat

Please be sure to turn in your registration form and $45 TODAY to Julie for the Presbytery Youth Retreat which takes place Feb 23-25. Contact Julie with any questions, concerns or another form.

myGroup

We will continue the dialogue comparing/contrasting Catholicism with           Presbyterianism at our meeting TONIGHT. We will also be making Valentine cards for Clothes4Kids. Dinner will be provided by the Mason Family at 6pm in the Youth Room and our meeting will follow, 6:30-7:30. Due to the weather, our trip to St. Matthew's for Mass has been rescheduled for February 10th.

Mission Trips

The High School trip this summer will be June 17-22 in Chicago. This trip is through Urban Youth Mission out of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago. What makes this trip even more intriguing is that our contact is Katie         Patterson who grew up in Westerville and attended Central College         Presbyterian Church...one of our own Presbytery of Scioto Valley folks! The Middle School trip will be July 8-14 in Lorain County. This trip is through Next Step Ministries. We will be hosted by Avon Lake Presbyterian Church, connecting and working with our neighbors in our very own state suffering from poverty. We will also continue staying connected after the trip through daily Devo Stories. Please let Julie know by January 28th if you will be joining us on a Mission Trip. A $50 deposit will be due at that time, as well.

Kitchen Crew

We are looking for a few people who would like to serve on a new Kitchen Crew. This group will organize the kitchen, work on any new policies and help keep up with organizing and cleaning moving forward. This will not change the responsibility of all individuals and groups to clean up after their own events, but rather will help keep the kitchen in good shape and provide some regularly scheduled deep-cleaning. Contact Kathi Bubb or Kathy Ritter if    interested and sign up at the Info Center.
