Moving Away/Cancer Free/Graduation Party

I just want to start by saying thank you for being in my life and supporting me, especially this past year. I wanted to have one last get-together to see     everyone who has had an impact on my life, to celebrate being cancer-free and to commemorate the next chapter of my life. Drop by the side patio of The Goat in Gahanna (6400 Preserve Crossing Blvd N.) on Sunday, July 29th, 4pm-8pm, to say hi (and bye). I’ll be providing light appetizers and   desserts. I hope to see you there as I leave August 1 to drive to my new home in California! And please no gifts. Your presence is enough (plus I have no extra room to pack gifts in my car). ~Carolyn Armstrong

Intergenerational Summer Sunday School

Youth and Adults are invited to attend this 5 week study in the Promised Land as we watch DVDs and talk about life in Biblical Israel. Ray Vander Laan hosts us in the first volume of his well-respected video series as we discover how God’s leadership of the Israelites would impact the world, both in ancient times and today. Join Teri Eriksen, July 22– August 19 at 9:15am in room 10.

Summer Bible Study

The summer study of "The Jesus Creed" on dvd with Scot McKnight will   resume in August. Using the Greatest Commandment found in Mark 12:29 - 31, we will use biblical characters to explore important questions like "what are you living for? what has God called you to become? what happens when disciples fail?" We will meet on August 2, 9,16,and 23 from 10:00 - 11:30 am., but don't worry if you can't come for all of the classes - come when you can!  All adults are welcome.

Habitat Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed for full day construction, as we build a house together with the family in the Linden neighborhood. Normal workday is 8:30am-4pm. Must be 16 or older for onsite construction. No experience necessary. Sign up at the Info Center. Questions? Ask Ned or Marquell Segelken.

Adopt a Church Flower Bed

Mifflin Church is in the heart of Gahanna and we need your help to keep it looking like the centerpiece that it is. If you enjoy gardening, you know how much time and TLC it requires. Working on it once in the Spring and Fall just isn’t enough, but if we give it regular attention, the workload is manageable and the curb appeal remains consistent. The church flower beds are numerous and the Trustees are asking for your green thumb assistance. You and/or your family/friends can “Adopt” one of our beds. At your convenience, you can stop by the church to weed or plant any annuals you desire. If you have perennials you would like to plant, or pruning/spraying you think necessary, we request that be approved first by the Trustees. There are tools and mulch in the garage or you can bring your own. There is a water spigot to the left of the church front doors, you just need to bring a watering can. Want to help but aren’t sure what’s a weed and what’s a flower… we can help, just ask. If you are able to help with this ministry, check out the map at the Info Center and sign up for the bed of you choice!

After-School at Mifflin

We are excited about all of the volunteers interested in our                         After School@Mifflin program which begins on Wednesday, August 15.     Opportunities for serving in the program include providing homework help, organizing snacks, greeting parents as they arrive for pickup, driving the bus, assisting with special events and much more. Contact Teri Eriksen or Kathi Bubb if you'd like more information.
