All Saints' Day

Saturday, November 1, is All Saints' Day, which Mifflin will observe in worship on Sunday. We Protestants believe that
all Christians, not just a famous few superstars, are "called to be saints" (Romans 1:7). In this view, we are saints because we have been made holy in Christ, not because we have distinguished ourselves with holiness. With this in mind, we will remember those who have gone before us - parents, grandparents, spiritual mentors, uncles and aunts - who have strengthened our faith by their words and examples. Remembering them, we continue to give significance to their lives and offer thanks for the way the Holy Spirit works to strengthen faith from generation to generation.
