Lent is a time to reflect on your walk with Jesus.

These programs and opportunities can help you do that:

Pancake Dinner Tuesday, February 13 - We’ll eat from 5:30 – 6:15 pm followed by the game “Lenten Outburst” for all ages.

Ash Wednesday Service February 14 at 6:45 pm - Click here for the Bulletin and be sure to tell your friends they can view the service on Facebook Live.

The Lord's Prayer worship and study for adults on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 - 7:30 pm starting February 21 through March 21

Maundy Thursday Service March 29 at 7:00 pm

A New Year at Mifflin

2018 will be another great year at Mifflin Presbyterian Church! Check out our website for news on two adult Sunday School classes that start January 7, a Game Night on January 12, a Marriage Workshop on January 20 and a Pancake Dinner on February 13, plus LOTS of programs for children and youth, as well as many service opportunities. We hope to see you this year.

Lenten Devotionals

The Info Tower has devotionals for children, youth and adults. Be sure and pick one up. There are currently devotionals from the Upper Room, as well.


Lenten Adult Sunday School Classes

Two new 6-week adult classes will begin TODAY:

The Apostles’ Creed - How can a creed which is one of the oldest in         Christendom still be relevant in today's world? Join Ned Segelken in room 10 for an exploration of the ancient roots and modern relevance of one of our best known confessions.

Sinning Like a Christian: A Fresh Look at the Seven Deadly Sins - These sins that can appear so ordinary and mundane can lead to destruction in our own lives and the world. How can we better understand these sins so that we can work through their negative impact? Kathi Bubb will lead this study in room 5.


Lenten Program

Pastor David Bubb will lead a Wednesday night Lenten Program on the Lord's Prayer. We will meet in Fellowship Hall at 6:45-7:30pm                     beginning February 21st. There will be time for worship, prayer and study as we look at the prayer Jesus taught us. See Pastor Bubb with any questions.


Mifflin Book Club

Join us on Monday, February 26th at 7pm as we discuss Love Lives Here: Finding What You Need in a World Telling You What You Want by Maria Goff. Want to read ahead? March’s book is The Newcomers: Finding Refuge, Friendship, and Hope in an American Classroom by Helen Thorpe and April’s book is Hemingway's Boat: Everything He Loved in Life, and Lost by Paul Hendrickson. The Book Club meets every fourth Monday – all men and   women are welcome.


PW Event

Women of the church are invited to the Presbyterian Women Regional     Gathering on Saturday, February 24th at the Brookwood Presbyterian Church. The topic will be Human Trafficking. To register for event, please contact Nancy Schuster at


Game Night - It's BAAACK!

Game Night has been rescheduled for Friday, February 23rd, 7-9pm. All ages are invited to come for card games, board games, pool, ping pong and more. Bring a game and a snack to share - friends welcome!


Weekend Snack Pack 

In support of GRIN’s Weekend Snack Pack program, Mifflin is                       providing weekly snack packs to food insecure children attending Goshen Lane Elementary School. If you would like to donate non-perishable,             individually packaged food items to help supply these Snack Packs, please pick up the list of recommendations at the Info Center. A container will be available at the same location for donations.


GRIN February Food Drive

GRIN’s collection focus for February is Pancake Mix & Syrup and Paper   Towels. Donation bins are by the glass doors.


Table Sharing

Table Sharing will be back in March! We have five dinners on various nights in March, including Sunday, March 4Friday, March 16Saturday, March 17Friday, March 23; and Saturday, March 24; each at around 6pm. The dinners at church member's homes provide an opportunity to get to know people in a small group setting. The hosts will provide the main dish, while guests will provide side dishes, drinks or dessert. Child care will be available at the church for the dinner on Saturday, March 17. The sign up sheet is at the Info Center. Please sign up for one person per line. After you sign up you will be contacted by your host who will give you directions, the exact time and what you can contribute.


Salad and Spuds Lunch

Our Mifflin youth will be hosting a fundraising lunch on Sunday, March 11th after the second service (12:15 pm). The menu will be potato and salad bars, and entertainment will be offered by youth during the meal. A love donation will be accepted to raise funds for the Mission Trips – High School trip to   Chicago June 17-22, while the Middle School trip is to Lorain County July 8 – 14. If you would like to volunteer your time for preparation, set up or clean up, or provide food items, contact Julie Oswalt. Sign up at the Info Center if you plan to attend.



We will meet tonight for dinner at 6pm, followed by a training for our child safety program (so that they can help with VBS and in the nursery). A 20 Hour Famine (30, for those who can do more) will take place on March 10. During the day they will be doing a Scavenger Hunt at church members’ homes to collect items for GRIN – they may be knocking on your door! They will also be preparing for the Salad and Spuds Lunch on March 11.

As you travel, both near and far, take Flat Jesus along as a reminder that He is always with you.


  1. Color your Flat Jesus and cut it out. (or cut out this one colored by Emily Cremean)
  2. Bring him with you.
  3. Snap a picture of Flat Jesus & you.
  4. Post to the church’s social media sites or email your photo to using #FlatJesus .
Jesus is with you no matter your age.

Summer of Service

Starting on June 11, all ages will gather together at 9:15 am in the Fellowship Hall each Sunday to learn about and do a service project for the church, community or world. Projects will include setting up for VBS, writing to our missionaries, making lunches for the Summer Lunch Program, baking cookies for Open Shelter and much more. Check out our Facebook page each week to see what is coming up.

Katie Johnson Education Loan

Mifflin can once again offer support to one or two graduating high school seniors or college age member for a limited number of low-interest loans up to $2000.

The Katie Johnson Educational Loan Fund was established over 20 years ago by Dr. Arnold Johnson in memory of his wife, Kate. Loans are granted for education at colleges, universities, advanced trade schools, nursing programs, and similar post-high school opportunities. Repayment is delayed until after the student leaves their educational institution. Application packages, including forms for two required letters of reference, are available here or as hard copies at the Information Center.

Applications are now being accepted through May 19. Electronic application is preferred, but not mandatory. All materials should be returned to or the church office. Awardees will be announced in June.

VBS at Mifflin

"Hero Central" is the theme of our summer Vacation Bible School program, Sunday June 11 through Thursday, June 15 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. All children age 4 - grade 5 are welcome. Register online through the website.
