Musical Ensembles at Mifflin Presbyterian
Church
The Chancel Choir is one
of Mifflin's most visible music ministries.
Open to singers of high-school age and up,
the Chancel Choir sings three times per
month during the academic year, most often
during the 9:00 worship service. Its repertoire
is very diverse, including anthems in Renaissance,
Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Anglican,
Spiritual, and Contemporary styles. Rehearsals
take place on Thursday nights, 7:30 - 9:00
pm.
GOD Strong is a newly
formed band made up of students. The grades
range from 4th grade to High School senior.
The students rehearse once a week and perform
as the worship team once every two months.
About ten songs are prepared throughout
the season to be utilized in the services.
The season follows the schedule of LOGOS
and rehearsals are on the same Wednesday
after LOGOS. To participate, please contact
Tim Cremean tcremean@miffinpres.org
for an interview.
The current Worship Team
for Contemporary worship is made up of a
small band of piano, drums, guitar, bass,
and the occasional harmonica. The singers
round off the group with about 3-7 singing
every week. The service is planned during
the week of the service and rehearsed on
the Thursday prior. The 10 o'clock hour
on Sunday is used as a final prep for the
11 am service. All ages are encouraged to
participate. To participate, please contact
Tim Cremean tcremean@mifflinpres.org
for an interview.
The Handbell Choirs of
Mifflin Presbyterian Church are led by the
Music Director. Opportunities exist for
players of all ages, from elementary school
students through adults. The handbells grace
Mifflin's worship services.
The LOGOS Children's Choirs
are drawn from the young people who attend
Mifflin's Wednesday afternoon LOGOS
Christian education program.
These singers participate in the Sunday
worship services between October and April.
Puppeteers 6th grade to 12th grade bring
the Mifflin Puppets - Candle, Jason,
Bugby, and Howard - to life once a month
during worship service and at special performances
throughout the year. Puppeteers practice
on Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m.
Opportunities for vocal and instrumental
soloists or small
groups (duets, trios, quartets,
etc.) exist throughout the year, but especially
in the summer months. Please contact Kate
Cremean to be scheduled or for further information
at mifflinmusic@yahoo.com.
