Adult Sunday School Classes

Lent 2010: The Faith Our congregation will be joining together this Lenten Season for a sermon series and book study on The Faith by Charles Colson. This book explores What Christians Believe, Why They Believe it and Why It Matters.

You will be able to purchase your own copy of The Faith on Sunday, February 7th and Sunday, February 14th. Books will be available in the Gathering Area for $13.00 each.

The sermon series will begin on February 14th and will include Sunday mornings as well as the Wednesday evening Lenten Worship Services.

You are invited to be part of one of the Book Study groups that will meet according to the following schedule:

Sunday, 10:00 am in Room 10
beginning February 21st

Sunday, 6:30 pm in The Fireplace Room
beginning February 21st

Wednesday, 7:30 pm in The Fireplace Room
beginning February 24th

Men’s Bible Study – This group meets at 7:45 am in Room 10 each Sunday morning and discusses various topics of specific interest to men and their Christian life.

Foundations – In Foundations: An Overview of Systematic Theology, R.C. Sproul shows that the truths of Scripture relate to each other in perfect harmony. This series addresses questions about the origin and authority of the Bible, God, the Trinity, man, sin, salvation, revelation, miracles, the Church, the end times, and more. Meets in Room 10 at 10am.

The Class in Room 5 – Join other adults in Room 5 for short-term classes on a variety of topics. Topics may include parenting, finance, video-series, and seasonal topics. Contact the Church office for the current class offering.

Becoming the Church – Join Pastor Peter in the Fireplace Room for the opportunity to learn more about Mifflin Presbyterian Church, the Presbyterian Church USA and the larger body of Christ. This class is essential for new members of the congregation; visitors and members are welcome to attend. Contact the Church office for specific dates of this class.

Weekday Opportunities

Monday

Quilting Bee-lievers – Our own quilting group meets at 7:00 pm on the fourth Monday of each month. Bring your sewing machine and supplies and join in on the current project or work on your own quilt while fellowshipping with others.

Women’s Book Group – Join other women in reading a different book each month. This group meets on the 4th Monday of the month at 7:00 pm.

Women’s Accountability Group – Meets at 7:00 pm in the Cornerstone Room. Join with other women in reading scripture and gathering together for weekly check-in and discussion.

Tuesday

Mary Martha Circle – this women's Bible study meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am in Room 8 on the Lower Level of the Church.

Mom’s Bible Study – This group welcomes moms of all aged children and meets at 7:3 0 pm at Caribou Coffee at the corner of Morse and Hamilton on the 1st and Third Tuesdays of each month.

Priscilla Group – this women's Bible study meets each Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm in the Parlor. All women are welcome to join in. New books of study are selected quarterly.

Friday

Men’s Prayer Breakfast – All men of the congregation are invited to start each Friday with breakfast and prayer here at the Church beginning at 6:45 am.
